Key Responsibilities Of
The Role
Controls design scope, design programme and design budget, i.e. acts as the Design Project Manager.
Develops specific Scope of Services for Design Consultants and Subcontractors to be part of their contractual documentation. Follows up the appointment of design consultants and subcontractors.
Develops Design Management Plan and implements it.
Develops the Design Delivery Schedule in coordination with the various stakeholders of the project (i.e. designers, subcontractors), the BIM and planning teams.
Manages the design processes, from the work stage in which the project starts up to As Built stage. Provide post delivery design support if required and as determined by higher management.
Manages limit and extent of design scope among design consultants, subcontractors, client and OFCI (Owner Furnished and Contractor Installed) equipment.
Assist the Project Manager in assessing and managing design costs.
Manages distribution of design workload within the project internal and external teams.
Tracks design changes, assumptions and risks.
Manages CDP works, workshop drawings and technical submittal.
Responsible to liaise with the document controllers to obtain accurate and up-to-date design overviews, MIDP, TIDPs and other relevant trackers.
Responsible to report progress based on MIDP/Power BI overviews, including client report and AOC meetings.
Responsible for reviewing design consultant invoicing against progress with commercial department.
Liaises design development, changes, tenant inputs and the like with the client’s design team and/or the client’s project managers.
Manages the Asset List in conjunction with the BIM Manager.
Maintain the design changes updated into the Project Change Tracker.
Manages the design change control process along with the commercial team.
Chairs internal and external design team meetings and workshops.
Assists with design corrective and preventative actions or resolution of non-conformances regarding design issues.
Manages sustainability programmes (BREEAM, LEED, etc.) and liaise relevant design works with the appointed third party consultant, reporting on the progress of points (or equivalent system).
Provide design related inputs to the overall risk register.
Manages the timely delivery of design deliverables.
Provides guidance and support OSM opportunities.
Manages design priorities in liaison with the project schedule.
Leads with effective supervision an experienced design team to ensure delivery on schedule.
Closely tracks design deliverables to ensure project milestones are met.
Implements recovery strategy if slippage is detected.
Participates in departmental strategic planning.
Assists technically internal and external customers.
Coordinates design delivery with the BIM Manager or BIM team.
Essential Criteria For
The Role
Electrical or Mechanical engineering background preferred. (Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial engineering preferred).
Minimum 5-7 years of experience in data centre, pharmaceutical, semiconductor or large industrial construction projects.
Solid experience required coordinating multidisciplinary teams.
