About Phosphoenix  At Phosphoenix, we are developing a pioneering neuroprosthetic system designed to restore functional vision in people with profound blindness.
Our technology interfaces directly with the visual system of the brain using an innovative implant containing a high number of microelectrodes. By electrically stimulating precisely targeted neural structures, our goal is to create visual percepts that can help users navigate their surroundings and regain a meaningful degree of independence.
We are an ambitious Amsterdam-based Med Tech company working at the intersection of  neurotechnology, microfabrication, medical device engineering and neuroscience . Having advanced our technology through preclinical development, we are now preparing the next generation of our system and working towards  first-in-human clinical evaluation .
About the Role  As  Senior Medical Implant Engineer , you will play a central role in the design, development and industrialisation of our implantable neurotechnology.
You will work on highly miniaturised implantable components incorporating flexible materials and hundreds to thousands of electrode contacts. Your challenge is to translate ambitious technical concepts into robust, manufacturable and well-documented medical devices suitable for preclinical and ultimately clinical use.
This is a highly hands-on role. You will combine engineering and problem-solving with coordination of suppliers and manufacturing partners, design documentation and structured medical-device development.
You will work closely with our CTO, engineers, neuroscientists, quality and regulatory specialists, clinical collaborators and external development and manufacturing partners.
What You'll Do    Drive implant development:  Design, develop and optimise implantable medical-device components, including probes based on flexible and highly miniaturised materials.
Translate concepts into manufacturable devices:  Take designs from concept and prototype through iterative development towards reliable and reproducible manufacturing.
Write technical documentation:  Prepare and maintain design specifications, drawings, development records and other technical documentation required for controlled medical-device development.
Coordinate manufacturing:  Manage and coordinate in-house and external prototyping, manufacturing and production activities.
Manage suppliers:  Source and evaluate materials, components, equipment and suppliers and ensure that technical requirements are clearly defined and met.
Support verification and quality control:  Develop and execute appropriate inspection, testing and verification activities for prototypes, components and manufactured devices.
Work within design controls:  Contribute to design inputs and outputs, risk management, verification and validation, change control and other activities required for medical-device development.
Solve complex engineering challenges:  Analyse failures, identify root causes and translate findings into practical design and manufacturing improvements.
Drive execution:  Plan, prioritise and communicate development and production activities while balancing performance, quality, risk, cost and timelines.
Collaborate across disciplines:  Work closely with engineering, neuroscience, clinical, regulatory and quality colleagues and external partners to move the technology towards clinical application.
What You'll Bring   MSc or PhD in  Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Microengineering  or a related technical discipline.
Several years of relevant experience in medical-device, biomedical, microtechnology or…
