Head of Engineering

We're working with a fast-growing defence technology company developing advanced VTOL UAVs for defence, security and government customers.
They're looking for a  Head of Engineering  to build and lead their Engineering function, with a major focus on  manufacturing engineering, industrialisation and scaling production .
Working alongside the R&D Manager and reporting to the CTO, you'll help bridge the gap between R&D and production – building the team, processes and engineering structure needed for the company's next stage of growth.
You'll be responsible for:
Building and developing an Engineering team from  2–4 to around 10 engineers .
Leading  manufacturing engineering, industrialisation and production scaling .
Taking hardware from R&D through to  manufacturing-ready, scalable products .
Building the engineering processes and structure needed in a fast-growth environment.
Developing junior engineers and working closely with R&D, Product and Manufacturing.

What we're looking for:

15+ years' experience  within complex hardware engineering.
5+ years' engineering management  experience.
Strong background in  manufacturing engineering / industrialisation / production scaling .
Someone who is still  close to the engineering and manufacturing , rather than purely a high-level people manager.
UAV, aerospace, defence, robotics or similar complex hardware experience is highly relevant.
Based in or open to working  on-site in the Netherlands .
