Fashion for Good seeks an Footwear Innovation Intern to join our team from January 2027, who will be responsible for supporting all our work in the Footwear space. The role will focus on footwear material innovation, manufacturing, end of use (sorting, disassembly), recycling, waste flows, and impact.

The role will include the following activities/responsibilities:

• Execute in depth due diligence with a focus on the scientific and technical feasibility of the innovation.
• Map and update the landscape of innovations to further strengthen our scouting in selected focus areas.
• Scout innovations to further strengthen our innovator database in selected focus areas
• Assist the team in the creation of the Innovator deliverables (i.e. technical feasibility, impact analysis, project management, etc.)
• Write reports describing findings and recommendations for follow up action.
• Work closely with subject matter experts in the Innovation Platform to deepen knowledge and understanding of key focus areas
• Assist in general Innovation Platform activities (including operations and day to day business activities)
• Support the Innovation Manager and Analyst with ongoing projects
• Project management and operational support of various projects within the team
• Provide analytical support to ongoing projects specifically relating to technical and impact analysis

This position reports to the Innovation Manager.

The ideal candidate has a relevant track record and combines strong interpersonal skills with a self-starting, proactive attitude.

The following skills/knowledge are essential:

• Strong analytical, research and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
• Knowledge of textile or footwear processes and recycling is desired
• A good understanding of the supply chain & the fashion industry
• Strong Google slides, Google sheets and presentation skills
• Capacity to adapt to different settings and to work in a demanding and multicultural environment
• A pro-active, enthusiastic, can-do attitude and comfortable dealing with uncertainty
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• The following experience is a plus: relevant work in chemical engineering, material science or textile chemistry.

Academic degree (Bachelor (HBO/BA/BSc), or Masters) within sports technology (engineering), chemical engineering, material science, chemistry, mechanical engineering, textile engineering or biotechnology. Please note that all our internships require that you are enrolled in tertiary study for the duration of the internship.

Proficiency in English is a requirement.

you must be enrolled as a student for the duration of your internship, eligible to work in the EU (ie a valid visa already in place) and living in or willing to relocate to the Netherlands.
