Assistant Stage Manager

Stage-Mate is a young and growing company in the live entertainment sector. We specialize in technical production, lighting design, lighting operation, and managing the entire touring process for productions. From initial design to the final performance, we ensure that a show is technically sound and travels smoothly throughout the Netherlands and abroad.
Our daily work is very varied, but it all revolves around designing and implementing technical solutions for the arts sector. Our team currently consists of nine passionate colleagues, and we’re looking for new team members to join us.
In theater and dance, we work for clients including Het Nationale Theater, ISH Dance Collective, Illusionary Rockaz Company, Body of Art, Theater Oostpool, Theater Utrecht, De Warme Winkel , and Theaterproducties Twente. In the events industry, our clients include Holland Festival, Dekmantel, Awakenings, Paradiso, Carré, and Asko|Schönberg. We also organize tours for artists such as Merol and Hang Youth.

We are looking for an experienced stage manager to accompany our productions on tour, with a focus on theater and dance, throughout the Netherlands and possibly internationally as well. During rehearsals and performances, you’ll serve as the liaison between the director, performers, and technical crew, ensuring that every show runs smoothly and safely. While on tour, you’ll be the primary point of contact for the theaters where we perform.

You’ll also oversee the entire technical team on tour.
We do not have any specific requirements regarding education or educational background; what matters more to us is that you
can work independently, have strong technical and creative insight, and can adapt quickly when things don’t go as expected. This role requires solid technical
knowledge in the areas of lighting, video, sound, and set design

Possession of driver's license B is important.

What will you do?

Write a performance report after each performance day

Travel with touring companies and ensure that the production runs as intended at every theater

Responsible for setting up the set on stage

Directing the theater technicians and cueing the fly system

Assist the technical producer during rehearsals in preparing for the performance

Coordinate the performance with theaters and venues in advance

Ensuring safety on and off stage

Managing the technical team
