Role Overview

The Finance Manager will be responsible for the financial and operational integrity of NOWATCH. You’ll own all bookkeeping, reporting, and budgeting processes, from daily accounting to strategic forecasting. You’ll work closely with the CEO and leadership team to ensure the company’s financial systems scale in step with its mission and international growth. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys both precision and purpose, a hands‑on financial professional with an eye for detail, systems, and continuous improvement.

What You’ll Be Doing

As our new Finance Manager, you’ll play a vital role in shaping the future of NOWATCH. In this role, you will:

Bookkeeping & Financial Reporting
  • Maintain accurate and timely bookkeeping records using Exact
    .
  • Oversee Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP) processes; invoicing, collections, supplier payments, and reconciliations.
  • Manage VAT compliance
    , including calculation, reporting, and submission.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management and investors.
  • Support year‑end closings and liaise with external accountants and auditors.
Financial Planning & Control
  • Lead budgeting and forecasting cycles in collaboration with department leads.
  • Monitor cash flow and ensure financial stability through proactive planning.
  • Develop internal financial dashboards and reporting tools to enhance transparency and accountability.
Payroll & Employee Compensation
  • Coordinate the monthly payroll run with the external salary administrator.
  • Ensure timely salary payments, pension contributions, and compliance with Dutch labor law.
  • Manage expense reimbursements and maintain clear employee compensation records.
Software & System Integration
  • Oversee integration of financial systems including Exact, Pay Pal, Shopify, and banking platforms
    .
  • Optimize automation between systems to improve accuracy and reduce manual work.
Government & Compliance
  • Manage communication with governmental bodies such as Belastingdienst, UWV, CBS
    , and auditors.
  • Ensure compliance with all statutory requirements and reporting obligations.
Procurement & Administration
  • Support procurement and budgeting processes for domains, software, and operational costs.
  • Manage domain renewals, licenses, and digital subscriptions to ensure smooth operations.
Customer & Supplier Communication
  • Resolve financial inquiries from customers and suppliers.
  • Handle payment discrepancies
    , refunds
    , and billing questions with empathy and precision.

What You Bring
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration.
  • 3–6 years of experience in finance or accounting, ideally in a startup or scale‑up environment
    .
  • Strong knowledge of Dutch accounting standards (RJ) and tax regulations
    .
  • Experienced with Exact Online
    , Excel/Google Sheets
    , and financial integrations.
  • Proactive, detail‑oriented, and structured yet comfortable in a fast‑moving, entrepreneurial setting.
  • Strong communication skills (Dutch and English).
