Position Summary

Virtual Metric is seeking a Financial Controller who will be responsible for the financial stewardship and operational efficiency of our rapidly growing SaaS business. You will play a critical role in managing accounting operations, financial reporting, compliance, budgeting, and forecasting, while providing actionable insights to support strategic decision-making. This role is ideal for a meticulous, analytical, and strategic finance professional who thrives in a fast-paced and scaling environment.

• Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)
• Lead annual budgeting and periodic forecasting processes in close collaboration with relevant teams and stakeholders
• Perform variance analysis on budgets and forecasts, providing clear insights to leadership

• Financial Reporting & Compliance
• Oversee accurate and timely preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal controls
• Liaise with external auditors and manage audit processes

• Accounting & Bookkeeping
• Execute day-to-day accounting and bookkeeping activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance
• Ensure accurate and timely month-end and year-end close processes

• Customer Invoicing & Collections
• Prepare and issue customer invoices in alignment with contract terms
• Track receivables and follow up on outstanding accounts to ensure timely collections

• Cash Flow & Treasury Management
• Monitor daily cash flow and forecast future liquidity requirements
• Optimize working capital and support funding activities, as well as investor reporting

• Strategic Finance & Business Partnering
• Deliver data-driven financial insights to support business cases, investment decisions, and pricing strategies
• Collaborate cross-functionally to align financial performance with company objectives

• Systems & Process Optimization
• Implement and improve financial systems, tools, and processes for scalability and automation
• Establish best practices in financial governance and cost control

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA, CMA, or similar certification preferred)
• Minimum 3 years of progressive experience in financial control or FP&A roles
• Strong hands-on experience with bookkeeping, invoicing, and collections
• Prior experience in SaaS or Cybersecurity/Tech sectors strongly preferred
• Proficiency in financial software (e.g., Xero, Quick Books, Net Suite) and reporting tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI)
• Deep understanding of GAAP, budgeting principles, and financial compliance
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a hands-on mindset
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach
