Role SummaryAs an independent mental health professional within the Mental Health Advisory team, you provide psychological expertise, advice, training and preventive interventions in Dutch — strengthening our capacity to support professionals and organisations working with Ukrainians and other crisis-affected communities, while helping develop mental health programmes for children and adolescents.
Key ResponsibilitiesProvide independent psychological advice and consultation in Dutch to organisations and professionals supporting Ukrainians and other crisis-affected communities.
Design, adapt and deliver trauma-informed and culturally sensitive training for Dutch-speaking professionals, including topics such as mental health, trauma, intercultural communication, conflict and psychological support.
Facilitate intervision sessions for professionals, creating a structured and psychologically safe space for peer reflection, case discussion, knowledge sharing and professional learning.
Translate findings and recommendations from needs assessments into practical, evidence-informed mental health advice and organisational support approaches.
Contribute psychological expertise to the Teens Resilience Academy, including adapting the programme and supporting its delivery.
Develop, design and adapt preventive, early-intervention and other psychological support programmes for different target groups and contexts, with a focus on resilience, mental health promotion and psychosocial wellbeing.
Collaborate with other Mental Health Advisory specialists to develop multidisciplinary approaches, programmes and recommendations.
Requirements- Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Psychology or a related field
- Experience in mental health advisory, training, prevention, crisis response, migration/displacement or trauma-informed practice
- Fluent Dutch (spoken & written), professional working proficiency in English
- Strong facilitation and communication skills; able to work independently
- Committed to trauma-informed, culturally sensitive, ethical practice
- Nice to have:
Ukrainian language skills; experience with Ukrainian/displaced communities; child & adolescent mental health experience; experience working with NGOs, municipalities or schools
