About the Opportunity

Bitvovo is scaling its data capabilities across Compliance, Legal, and Risk, and we’re looking for a well‑rounded Data Science Manager to drive actionable insights, develop intelligent solutions, and empower business teams through data.

In this role, you’ll lead a team of Data Scientists and combine hands‑on analytics with data science techniques to solve business‑critical problems. You’ll oversee the team’s day‑to‑day work, and define the team’s strategy together with stakeholders in the Fraud, Financial Crime, Compliance, Risk and Onboarding domains. You will provide valuable insights and analysis from developing intuitive dashboards, work on building predictive models and further develop risk frameworks.

As a Data Science Manager, you will shape and lead the Data Science team, ensuring the timely and high‑quality delivery of critical features that support Bitvovo’s compliant and efficient operations.

You’ll be expected to lead initiatives end‑to‑end, partnering with stakeholders, shaping solutions, and making impact.

What You’ll Be Doing

In your capacity as a Data Scientist Manager, you will be the first point of contact to key stakeholders in both business and control functions and you will also collaborate with Data Scientists, Data Analysts, Analytics Engineers, Data Engineers and Software engineers to empower various business areas with data‑driven insights. Your key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Lead, coach and mentor a team of Data Scientists, conduct regular performance reviews and deliver constructive feedback.

  • Establishing and nurturing partnerships with stakeholders to promote a culture of data‑centric decision‑making within Bitvovo. Align the team’s strategy with business objectives and regulatory standards.

  • Leading the charge in data analytics and data science projects, from the planning stage through to execution, effectively turning insights into actionable strategies.

  • Collaborating closely with the many product and engineering teams at Bitvovo to enhance data sets and pipelines in order to make Bitvovo more data‑driven.

  • Conducting comprehensive data analysis and building models to tackle business challenges, uncover opportunities, and streamline processes in areas such as Risk, Fraud, Financial Crime, Compliance, and Onboarding.

  • Enabling the business by developing and deploying user‑friendly self‑service analytical tools, making them accessible to non‑technical users and promoting widespread data utilization.

What We Look For
  • 3+ years of experience in a senior or leadership role as Data Scientist, Analytics, or Quantitative role, ideally within Compliance, Risk, Legal, or Fintech Operations.

  • Proven ability to build and lead high‑performing teams.

  • Solid academic background in STEM, Computer/Data Science, Econometrics, or a related field.

  • Expert SQL skills and fluency in Python (e.g. Pandas, Numpy, Tensor Flow, Keras).

  • Experience with BI platforms such as Looker, Tableau, or Power

    BI, and a good grasp of data modeling and metrics standardization.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to simplify complex results for stakeholders.

  • Proven ability to manage projects end‑to‑end, from data exploration and analysis to solution implementation.

  • Experience working cross‑functionally, ideally in fast‑paced, regulated environments.
