Overview

At BYBORRE we're looking for a Technical Product Lead to join our team.

About the job

You co-own the product with the CEO and management team, to further grow and scale our textile platform giving anyone the power to design textiles, create samples, and run their own conscious production. You work hands-on with a small team to turn strategy into a shipped product. You own prioritisation, bridging the digital strategy by translating it to a product roadmap, trade-offs, and delivery, balancing user value, speed, and technical quality.

This is a hands-on role. You stay close to the codebase while also owning product decisions and supporting the team in moving forward. You help shape how we build, what we build, and how the product evolves over time.

We work with an office-first mindset to stay close to the textile machines and the people creating the product, while offering flexibility through a hybrid setup.

About the team

You’ll be part of a small, cross-functional digital product team within a company of around 20–25 people. The team works closely together and spans product, engineering, and domain expertise.

You’ll collaborate directly with the CEO, management team, and the people building the product day to day.

What you'll be doing

In your role, you will :

  • Co-own product direction and roadmap with the CEO and management team

  • Translate strategy and user needs into clear product scope and priorities

  • Make day-to-day product and technical decisions

  • Work hands-on in the codebase

  • Lead delivery from discovery through release

  • Help the team move fast without losing quality

  • Explore and apply modern, AI-native ways of working where they add real value

  • Keep the product scalable and maintainable as it grows

Skills & experience

What we're looking for in the ideal candidate. Not all of these are must haves, so please take the leap to get in touch even if you don't feel you meet all criteria.

  • Strong engineering background and comfortable staying hands-on

  • Experience owning product decisions in small teams

  • Able to work independently and make trade-offs without constant escalation

  • Understands modern development workflows and AI-native product patterns

  • Ambitious, pragmatic, collaborative, and outcome-driven

  • Familiarity with our stack or similar technologies

  • Proficient in JavaScript and the Vue.js ecosystem

  • Experience with Node.js; familiarity with Type Script is a plus

  • Proven ability to implement functional and scalable APIs

  • Comfortable with CSS and SCSS

Benefits
  • Contribute to something bigger—your work makes a real impact

  • Salary based on experience and responsibilities

  • 25 holidays per year and a generous pension plan (based within MITT Collective Labour Agreement scheme)

  • Travel expenses covered (for those commuting from outside Amsterdam)

  • Daily healthy lunch, coffee, snacks, and drinks at the studio

  • Laptop and accessories

About BYBORRE

There is nothing in life that we use more than textiles. Among the oldest and most universal objects produced by humans, textiles have proven to be a reliable tool that enhances our lives and brings across stories. Their influence goes beyond imagination. And yet, the journey that leads to a textile’s existence often remains unquestioned.

At BYBORRE, we are on a mission to drastically change the textile industry as we know it today. Envisioning a future where textiles are made with conscious intent, we merge the physical and digital worlds of textile creation, unlock material innovation and establish a transparent supply chain to give our customers worldwide access to responsible textiles for the products we use everyday.

Based in Amsterdam we have our own knitting lab with a range of circular knitting machines and an extensive yarn library. We experiment and innovate to create the most responsible knits of the highest quality.

We offer a collection of responsible textiles to our customers, with the opportunity to create custom textile. Our primary focus lies within the interior and apparel segments. Primarily, we direct our efforts towards brands, architects, project developers, designers and the end consumer. We offer our products and aim to raise awareness about the state of the textile industry by emphasizing how (our) responsible textiles can be a game changer.

By exploring new textile design and manufacturing processes that are less wasteful, harmful, inflexible and more collaborative, open and inspiring, we are creating a movement that challenges the conventional norms of the industry – encouraging you to think differently about textiles and inviting you to be part of something bigger.
