Role Description:

The Senior Application Specialist SAP HR S4

HANA in People Tech works on multiple Projects and Configuration changes on SAP S4

HANA. The Senior Application Specialist researches, designs, documents, maintains and implements new functionality in People Tech focussing on user experience, scalable design, legal requirements and best practices. Responsible for implementing scalable and secure configurations along with fixing issues raised by the Business owners. Proactively monitors new features released and identifies and promotes changes to improve System design and user experience.

Key Job Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Implement SAP S4

    HANA enhancements and provide support for Personnel Administration, Time Management, and Payroll, ensuring measurable benefits and system stability.
  • Act as the technology expert to offer solutions for People Services, Financial Systems, Risk teams, and other stakeholders, while conducting impact assessments and maintaining accountability for cross-functional solutions.
  • Collaborate with application vendors, technology partners, and internal teams (e.g., Financial Systems, IT Services, Security & Privacy Teams) for technology solutions implementation and support package management.
  • Possess end-to-end ownership of functional requirements, from design and architecture to unit testing, regression testing, and user acceptance testing (UAT) for projects and support tasks.
  • Perform root cause analysis for incidents, propose scalable solutions, and ensure error-free payroll processes and system compliance with technical and regulatory standards (e.g., SOx ITGC controls, Data Privacy).
  • Document configuration designs and business manuals, maintain the SAP HR Tenant Strategy, manage release management and system upgrades, and coach team members to ensure timely, scalable solutions adhering to SAP best practices.
  • Foster collaboration by embodying  values such as "Think Customer First," "Succeeding Together," "Own It," "Learn Forever," and "Do the Right Thing."

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Strong technical background and a Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or similar
  • Should have minimum 5-8 Years in SAP S4

    HANA - Personnel Administration, Time Management, Payroll (Netherlands - expert, other countries is a plus), Benefits, Authorization Management, Reporting
  • Experience in translating complex business requirements into technical design, Unit Testing, UAT, Regression Testing for SAP HR system changes. Expertise in Payroll schemas, PCRs, wage types, retroactive accounting, tax calculations for Netherlands, SAP HR Patch updates, year-end tax updates. Basic understanding of Integration landscape in the SAP S4

    HANA Architecture, Workday, Payroll, Benefits, SAP Finance
  • Experience in HR reporting tools like SAP Ad hoc query, SAP HR Reporting
  • Knowledge of SAP HR Security roles and authorizations, Understanding of GDPR, Sox compliance and legal regulations for Data security
  • SAP S4

    HANA Payroll certification is a bonus. Strong Problem Solving skills, hands on experience with SAP Notes and system debugging
