Job Title: IT Business Analyst
Salary: €4,249.97 per month (including local weighting) plus benefits.
Location: Amsterdam, Netherlands (mandatory relocation).
About this roleWe are looking to recruit a Business Analyst to join the Agency’s Information Management (IM) Division. The IM division handles IT project delivery for both internal and external stakeholders in an agile manner, following the SAFe framework. The projects cover Customer Relationship Management (CRM), Data Analytics, AI, Master Data Management (MDM) and more. As a key member of a delivery team, the Business Analyst will define business requirements, translate them for technical teams, facilitate communication between stakeholders, and contribute to the success of delivered products.
Responsibilities- Build strategic customer relationships and act as a central point with the business.
- Analyze business processes and systems, gather and define requirements.
- Evaluate existing business processes, map them using different visualization methods, and suggest improvements.
- Translate business needs into well‑defined technology requirements.
- Assist in refining requirements with business stakeholders and technical teams.
- Create clear, well‑structured documents such as business requirements, features, and user stories.
- Facilitate communication between technical and business teams, ensuring alignment and information flow.
- Ensure delivered products and/or services are fit for purpose by participating in planning and running User Acceptance Testing and managing its outcome.
- Increase organisational awareness about the product and its features by collaborating with business in workshops and information sessions.
- Support the creation of the product roadmap with the help of senior team members.
- Participate in preparations for increment delivery (PI planning) – work with external delivery teams to refine and estimate features and user stories.
- Proactively identify and flag business needs and interdependencies across business areas.
- Maintain product knowledge within EMA.
- Document technical and business decisions.
- Actively participate in demo preparations (supported by a Product Owner).
- Review and refresh user guide content.
- Foster knowledge sharing through regular updates about the product.
- General conditions:
- Full rights as a citizen of a European Union Member State, Iceland, Liechtenstein, or Norway.
- Thorough knowledge of English (at least level C1) and a satisfactory knowledge of another official EU language (at least level B2).
- Fulfilled obligations concerning military service as required by applicable laws.
- Specific condition:
- Possess a university degree of at least three years that must have been obtained by the closing date of the vacancy notice.
- Minimum of two years of relevant experience with IT business analysis, including defining and structuring requirements, writing user stories and acceptance criteria, designing mock‑ups and wireframes, supporting backlog prioritisation, and setting up/running working group meetings.
- Experience collaborating and communicating with internal, external, technical, and non‑technical stakeholders at different levels.
- Experience gathering, translating, and communicating technical requirements clearly to the development team, stakeholders, and business.
- Experience in project management.
- Business acumen (ability to analyze business processes, identify bottlenecks, and model improvements).
- Technical acumen (understanding of modern technical concepts such as AI, Data Analytics, Data Modelling, ability to create dashboards, visualizations, and reports).
