Position: Expert PPSS Intelligence Tactical/Operation (OSINT)

Role Overview

As an Expert PPSS Intelligence Tactical/Operational (OSINT), you play a key role in strengthening ING’s resilience by delivering high‑quality intelligence on threats that may impact our people, assets and operations globally. You provide tactical and operational intelligence across geopolitical, ideological and criminal domains, with a strong emphasis on the effective and responsible use of Open Source Intelligence (OSINT). You translate complex external and digital developments into clear, actionable insights for senior management and security stakeholders, enabling informed decision‑making, supporting risk mitigation strategies and enhancing ING’s overall security posture.

Responsibilities
  • Tactical & Operational Intelligence
    • Deliver tactical intelligence on geopolitical and emerging developments relevant to ING.
    • Conduct tactical and operational analyses across physical and personal security domains.
    • Leverage OSINT to identify, validate and contextualise security‑related threats.
    • Perform structured OSINT collection across digital, social, media and technical sources.
    • Apply source evaluation, triangulation and analytical tradecraft to ensure intelligence quality and reliability.
    • Monitor and interpret developments in the external threat landscape.
    • Identify key themes and assess their potential impact on ING.
  • Insight Generation & Advisory
    • Translate complex intelligence and OSINT findings into clear, structured and actionable insights.
    • Integrate OSINT with internal, stakeholder and proprietary intelligence sources.
    • Produce high‑quality briefings and recommendations for senior stakeholders.
    • Support decision‑making by connecting external developments to business implications.
    • Contribute to strategic initiatives such as resilience and geopolitical risk.
  • Crisis Preparedness & Response
    • Support scenario planning, simulations and crisis exercises.
    • Provide timely intelligence and OSINT support during incidents and security‑related events.
    • Act as a knowledge partner in crisis preparation and response.
    • Contribute to post‑incident analysis, lessons learned and intelligence reviews.
  • Stakeholder Engagement
    • Act as a trusted partner for internal stakeholders, including Security, Risk, Compliance and business leadership.
    • Build and maintain an effective internal and external intelligence network.
    • Liaise with external partners such as law enforcement and intelligence agencies.
  • Continuous Improvement & Capability Development
    • Identify emerging risks, trends and intelligence gaps.
    • Contribute to the development and professionalisation of PPSS intelligence and OSINT methodologies, tooling and reporting.
    • Support knowledge sharing and best‑practice exchange across the global PPSS community.

Required Experience and Skills
  • Master’s degree preferred (Security, Risk Management, International Relations, Law, or similar).
  • 8–10+ years of relevant experience in intelligence, security, OSINT, risk or related fields.
  • Demonstrated experience with OSINT collection, analysis and reporting in a professional context.
  • Strong understanding of geopolitical and security developments.
  • Proven ability to translate external developments into business‑relevant insights.
  • Experience working with senior stakeholders in complex, international environments.
  • Familiarity with regulatory and compliance environments is a plus.
  • Fluent in English (Dutch strongly preferred).
  • Ability to operate in a sensitive and confidential environment.
