Our client is a global organization within the mining industry, currently investing heavily in its Data & AI capabilities
. The business is focused on improving data quality, governance, and leveraging advanced analytics and AI solutions to support smarter, more predictive decision‑making across operations.

As a Data / AI Engineer
, you will play a key role in designing, building, and optimizing scalable data pipelines and AI‑driven solutions. You will work closely with data architects, analysts, and business stakeholders to enable robust data platforms and deliver machine learning and analytics capabilities that drive business value.

• Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and architectures
• Develop and deploy machine learning / AI models to support business use cases
• Translate business requirements into data engineering and AI solutions
• Support data ingestion, transformation, and integration across multiple sources
• Ensure data quality, consistency, and governance across platforms
• Collaborate with analysts and stakeholders to enable advanced analytics and reporting
• Optimize data workflows and pipelines for performance and scalability
• Support testing, deployment, and monitoring of data and AI solutions
• Contribute to fit-gap analysis and solution design decisions

• 5+ years of experience as a Data Engineer, AI Engineer, or similar role
• Strong programming skills in Python and SQL
• Experience with data pipeline tools (e.g., Airflow, Kafka, Spark)
• Experience working with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, or GCP)
• Knowledge of machine learning frameworks (e.g., Tensor Flow, PyTorch, scikit‑learn)
• Understanding of data modeling, ETL processes, and data architecture
• Experience working with stakeholders and translating business needs into technical solutions
• Strong problem‑solving, communication, and documentation skills
• Ability to work independently and within cross‑functional teams

This role requires a proactive Data / AI Engineer with strong technical expertise and a solution‑oriented mindset. The successful candidate will bring experience in building scalable data platforms, enabling AI use cases, and collaborating across business and technical teams. Experience working in structured data environments, implementing machine learning solutions, and supporting end‑to‑end data workflows will be key for success in this position.
