Graduate Internship – NFR AI Agent Developer

As a Graduate Intern, you will support the development of intelligent agents that enhance Non-Financial Risk (NFR) management within ING NL. This internship offers hands‑on experience in applying advanced data science, AI, and automation techniques to real‑world risk challenges in a highly regulated banking environment. You will work on designing, building, and testing agent‑based solutions that support risk identification, monitoring, and reporting processes, bridging data science and risk management while contributing to innovation within the bank.

You will join the NFR NL team within the CRO NL domain, based in Amsterdam. The team focuses on managing and improving ING NL’s NFR reporting, processes and frameworks, covering IT risk, operational risk, cyber security, operational resilience, fraud management, physical security, and all other areas linked to people, systems, processes and/or external events.

• Design and develop agent‑based solutions to support NFR processes with Co‑Pilot.
• Prototype and validate new automation approaches for risk management.
• Analyze structured and unstructured data relevant to NFR domains.
• Translate and identify business problems into data‑driven solutions.
• Stay up to date with the latest developments in AI, agents, and data science.
• Support knowledge or training sessions on AI within the different NFR teams.
• Work closely with NFR experts, IT teams, and other stakeholders in ING NL and within Group NFR departments.
• Present outcomes, demos, and recommendations to the management team.

• Master student in Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field.
• Experience with machine learning, data analysis, or AI/LLM frameworks.
• Experience working with Microsoft Co‑Pilot.
• Experience with prompt engineering and building agents.
• Interest in risk management, banking, or regulatory environments.
• Strong analytical thinking and problem‑solving skills.
• Good communication skills and ability to explain technical concepts clearly.
• Proactive, curious, and comfortable working in a dynamic environment.
