What are you going to do?

As our new Medior Model Developer
- Pillar 1, you will be responsible for the development, maintenance, and implementation of regulatory and non-regulatory credit risk models within the Pillar 1 team. You will support the organization’s risk management, capital management, provisioning, and strategic decision-making processes. The role entails ownership of model development activities across the entire model lifecycle, ensuring compliance with internal standards, regulatory requirements, and risk governance principles.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Develop, maintain and implement credit risk models, including scorecard/rating models and IFRS 9 provisioning models, in accordance with the internal methodologies.
  • Manage model development initiatives from inception to delivery by translating regulatory and business requirements into modelling solutions, defining data requirements, performing advanced data analysis and ensuring that models meet internal standards and regulatory expectations.
  • Prepare comprehensive development documentation and support model submission activities for independent validation.
  • Monitor model performance, analyse monitoring results and investigate performance issues, data quality concerns and unexplained trends in model outcomes.
  • Conduct root cause analyses, drive remediation activities and provide support to stakeholders and model users.
  • Ensure implementation activities are completed in accordance with approved methodologies, governance requirements and regulatory standards.
  • Maintain model governance activities, including model inventory records, validation findings, monitoring observations, and action plans.
  • Support interactions with Model Risk Management, Audit and regulatory stakeholders by providing analyses, documentation and responses to findings and recommendations.
  • Contribute to the development of modelling expertise within the organisation by mentoring junior colleagues, facilitating knowledge-sharing discussions, and proposing improvements to modelling standards, methodologies, and development practices.
Who are we looking for?

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a structured approach, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering high-quality results. A proactive and ownership-driven mindset, with the ability to work independently, take accountability for deliverables, and continuously develop knowledge and expertise. An effective communicator and collaborative team player, capable of working in an international environment and contributing to knowledge sharing and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Good knowledge of Python, T-SQL, statistical and econometric modelling techniques, model monitoring, data analytics, data quality management and technical documentation.
  • Ability to manage modelling projects and effectively collaborate with a broad range of stakeholders.
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure, including data analytics and modelling environments, is considered a strong advantage.

Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in risk modelling, quantitative analytics or a comparable quantitative discipline. Experience with development and monitoring of credit risk and/or IFRS 9 models, interaction with validation and audit functions, and delivery of modelling solutions within a regulated financial services environment. Fluent in English is required. The ideal candidate is eager to further develop their expertise in credit risk modelling within an international and highly regulated environment.
