Job Description:

We are seeking a highly experienced  Senior ETL Data Stage Specialist  with deep expertise in  IBM Info Sphere Data Stage ,  Oracle Exadata , and enterprise data warehousing environments. The ideal candidate combines strong technical knowledge with an  automation-first mindset , ensuring scalable, reliable, and efficient data integration solutions.

This role requires end-to-end ownership of data ingestion, transformation, and delivery processes while contributing to data architecture, data modeling, performance optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives. The successful candidate will work closely with Data Architects, Business Analysts, Data Engineers, and Platform teams to deliver high-quality data solutions supporting critical business processes.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, enhance, and maintain complex ETL processes using IBM Info Sphere Data Stage.

Build scalable and reusable ETL frameworks, components, and standards.

Develop and optimize batch and near real-time data integration solutions.

Ensure data quality, reconciliation, and validation mechanisms are embedded within ETL pipelines.

Troubleshoot and resolve ETL failures, performance bottlenecks, and production incidents.

Design and optimize ETL workloads for Oracle Exadata environments.

Leverage Exadata capabilities for high-performance data processing and query execution.

Optimize SQL, PL/SQL, partitioning strategies, indexing, and parallel execution plans.

Collaborate with DBAs to improve system performance, capacity utilization, and reliability.

Data Modeling & Data Warehousing

Contribute to enterprise data warehouse and data mart design.

Translate business requirements into logical and physical data models.

Apply dimensional modeling techniques including:

Snowflake Schemas

Fact and Dimension Design

Slowly Changing Dimensions (SCD)

Support data lineage, metadata management, and data governance initiatives.

Automation & Dev Ops

Champion an automation-first culture across the data engineering landscape.

Develop automated deployment, testing, monitoring, and operational processes.

Implement CI/CD pipelines for ETL development and releases.

Automate recurring operational tasks and controls.

Introduce Infrastructure as Code and configuration management practices where applicable.

Drive improvements in observability, monitoring, alerting, and self-healing capabilities.

Architecture & Technical Leadership

Provide technical leadership and mentoring to Data Engineers and ETL developers.

Define best practices, design standards, coding guidelines, and review processes.

Participate in solution architecture discussions and strategic platform initiatives.

Support cloud migration and modernization programs where applicable.

Act as a subject matter expert for Data Stage, ETL architecture, and Oracle-based data platforms.

Required Skills & Experience

Technical Expertise

8+ years of experience in Data Warehouse and ETL development.

Strong hands-on experience with:

IBM Info Sphere Data Stage

Oracle Database

Oracle Exadata

SQL and PL/SQL

Extensive experience designing and optimizing large-scale ETL solutions.

Strong understanding of enterprise data warehousing principles.

Proven experience with logical and physical data modeling.

Experience implementing data quality controls and reconciliation processes.

Knowledge of metadata, data lineage, and governance concepts.

Experience with Dev Ops principles and CI/CD processes.

Strong scripting capabilities (Shell, Python, Power Shell, or equivalent).

Experience with source control systems such as Git.

Familiarity with automated testing frameworks and deployment pipelines.

Mindset focused on standardization, simplification, and operational excellence.

Performance & Scalability

Strong SQL tuning and ETL performance optimization expertise.

Experience handling large data volumes and high-performance processing environments.

Understanding of workload management, partitioning, and parallel processing concepts.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with modern data platforms and cloud technologies (Azure, AWS, or GCP).

Knowledge of Data Vault, Kimball, and Inmon methodologies.

Experience with scheduling/orchestration tools such as Airflow, UAC.

Familiarity with data governance and regulatory requirements.

Understanding of Agile, Scrum, and SAFe delivery frameworks.

IBM Data Stage certification and/or Oracle certification.
