Do you thrive on solving complex challenges at the intersection of business and IT? Are you skilled at translating stakeholder needs into practical IT solutions, influencing decisions, and driving successful delivery? Then this opportunity at ABN AMRO may be the right fit for you.
We are looking for a proactive Business Developer to join the Asset & Liability Management (ALM) Grid. ALM is responsible for managing the bank's balance sheet, including interest rate & liquidity risk, and funds transfer pricing (FTP). The ALM Grid supports this mission by delivering the data, tools, and technology needed for informed decision-making and risk management. In this role, you will work with a multidisciplinary Agile Dev Ops team to enhance ALM data processes and applications, delivering insights and reporting to stakeholders ranging from senior management and business units to regulators.
Your jobAs a Business Developer in IRR, you act as an investigator who carries out thorough analysis, understands products and risk metrics. You translate complex ALM challenges and business requirements into practical, value-driven solutions. You work on multiple projects where you initiate, improve, and implement the processes, systems and data. You use your analytical expertise to advise and influence stakeholders, helping shape the right solutions while working closely with IT engineers to deliver.
Your projects include:
- Integrating new portfolios like NIBC into the models & risk reporting of the bank
- Deciphering legacy processes and migrating them to maintainable, efficient systems
- Creating dashboards in PowerBI to enable data-driven decision-making
- Support the implementation of new models and model updates in our risk management system QRM.
The ALM Grid department is a diverse, dynamic, and international environment. The ALM Grid consists of six teams that are mainly organized according to the risk type domains (Interest Rate Risk, Liquidity Risk, Funds Transfer Pricing), and the data domain. You will be working in the Interest Rate Risk team, working on the implementation of models and reports that support the bank’s interest rate risk management first and second line.
We have an open and social culture, and value interpersonal as much as business and technical skills. You will get to work in:
- A multidisciplinary and multicultural Agile-Scrum Dev Ops team that enjoys close cooperation with its stakeholders
- An open and highly autonomous culture where you are responsible for your goals and encouraged to regularly give and receive feedback
- An informal atmosphere with plenty of room for fun (movie/gaming events, team outings & monthly drinks)
We are looking for someone who is proactive, constructively critical, and ready to approach challenges with confidence. Besides a healthy knowledge/interest in complex and analytical matters (which characterizes ALM), you should possess the following skill set:
- HBO / University education
- 3 - 4 (or more) years of work experience: you stand on your own two feet and not afraid to make your own decisions
- Strong communicator with excellent command of English (both verbal and written): you excel at paraphrasing, asking open-ended questions, and checking assumptions
- You enjoy learning about both products and metrics, you are curious about how ALM decisions are made
- You are analytical and quickly grasp complex business flows, understanding how processes, data and systems fit together end-to-end
- You are driven to improve yourself and the team
- You have experience with Excel, SQL and/or similar data analysis tools. Python/R/PowerBI/Databricks knowledge is a plus
- Knowledge of banking products, ALM/FTP processes is a plus
