Your role

As a Field Service Engineer for the Netherlands, you are responsible for the installation, analysis, calibration, and repair of high‑end optical and precision mechanical instruments. The focus of this role is on network and application management.

You work with complex electronic and software systems where the highest level of accuracy is required. You act as a subject‑matter sparring partner for customers and colleagues and actively contribute to knowledge sharing, innovation, and process improvement.

You will be visiting our Optician customers fluency in Dutch is required for this role.

Main responsibilities
  • Analyzing and resolving interface and integration issues between multiple instruments and systems
  • Performing complex diagnostics, repairs, and calibrations on precision mechanical, electronic, and software‑based instruments
  • Supporting A‑and B1‑level customers at top‑market level with a proactive and solution‑oriented approach
  • Explaining technical causes, backgrounds, and solutions to customers and colleagues to promote knowledge sharing
  • Acting as a link between colleagues, departments, and suppliers, with a focus on knowledge retention and continuous development
  • Developing training materials and delivering training sessions for internal and external customers
  • Assessing assignments from the commercial department for technical feasibility and advising on optimal solutions
  • Supporting projects from the preparatory phase through to delivery, including store refurbishments and instrument installations
  • Developing and adapting software for integration, maintenance, and innovation purposes
  • Handling helpdesk activities: analyzing, logging, and resolving incidents remotely and scheduling service visits
Main requirements
  • HBO level of working and thinking, preferably in electronics, IT, or a comparable technical field
  • Experience with electronic and software‑based systems and resolving integration challenges
  • Knowledge of or experience with .NET and/or Microsoft SQL is a strong plus
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to approach complex problems holistically
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to clearly explain complex topics
  • Customer‑oriented, experienced in working with demanding, high‑level customers and handling confidential information
  • Experience in training, education, or knowledge transfer is a plus
  • Ability to work in a project‑based manner and effectively support internal and external customers, with communication as a key focus
  • Willingness to travel flexible availability within the service area
