Our client, a leading international manufacturer, is investing heavily in transforming its global procurement organisation through strategic sourcing, digital procurement, AI-enabled technology and best-in-class category management.

As part of this journey, they're looking to appoint a Procurement Category Manager
- General Services & Strategic Sourcing

, offering a unique career path that combines procurement transformation, project leadership and global category management.

Unlike a traditional category management position, your first phase will see you working at the centre of a major global strategic sourcing programme.

Partnering with an internationally recognised procurement consultancy, you'll coordinate high-value sourcing initiatives, engage senior stakeholders across the business and gain exposure to multiple indirect procurement categories while helping deliver measurable commercial value across the organisation.

As the transformation progresses, you'll transition into a Global Category Manager role, taking ownership of key General Services categories including areas such as Professional Services, HR, Marketing and IT.

What you'll be doing Procurement Transformation & Strategic Sourcing
  • Coordinate a global procurement transformation programme across multiple business functions.
  • Act as the key interface between internal stakeholders and an external strategic sourcing consultancy.
  • Drive programme governance, executive reporting and project delivery.
  • Coordinate sourcing activities, supplier evaluations, RFQs and implementation projects.
  • Support stakeholder engagement, workshops and change management initiatives.
  • Track savings delivery and procurement performance across strategic sourcing programmes.
Global Category Management
  • Develop and execute global category strategies across multiple indirect spend categories.
  • Manage approximately €40M annual spend with a global supplier base of around 1,000 vendors
    , driving supplier consolidation and long‑term value creation.
  • Lead supplier negotiations, contract development and performance management.
  • Deliver Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) improvements while maintaining service quality.
  • Build strategic supplier partnerships that support innovation and business performance.
  • Collaborate with Procurement, Finance and business stakeholders across 13 manufacturing sites worldwide.
Digital Procurement

You’ll also play an active role in implementing a next‑generation AI‑enabled Source‑to‑Pay platform, helping modernise procurement processes through automation, advanced analytics and data‑driven decision making.

What we’re looking for

You’ll likely bring:

  • Experience with in indirect procurement, strategic sourcing or category management.
  • Exposure to General Services, Professional Services, IT, HR, Marketing or other indirect spend categories.
  • Experience supporting sourcing projects, supplier negotiations and contract management.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and project coordination skills.
  • An analytical approach with an interest in procurement transformation and continuous improvement.
  • A collaborative mindset and the confidence to work with senior stakeholders across an international business.
  • Fluent English, with additional European languages considered advantageous.
