We are on the hunt for an ambitious buyer with superb category management and negotiations skills while building lasting relationships with suppliers. You also offer entrepreneurial, realistic, and practical business opportunities. Have a forward-thinking idea? Tricks of the trade

Negotiation strategies: Define clear negotiation strategies to ensure competitive conditions with our suppliers.

Supplier negotiations: Run negotiations with many suppliers from start until signed contract.

Category expertise: Build and develop a deep understanding of your category through a combination of Picnic data, customer insights and supplier input.

Commercial opportunities: Keep an eye open for commercial opportunities and use a data-first approach to identify category innovations.

Category improvements: Create and execute a pragmatic plan to drive the category improvements.

Supply chain: Understand the end-to-end supply chain and identify opportunities to improve the range, product quality and profitability.

Team collaboration: Work together with your category team to bring the best to our customers.

Your superpowers

Master’s degree with exposure to analytical problem-solving

1-3 years of work experience, preferably as (junior) category manager and/or buyer in a commercial and analytical environment

Commercial drive, a nose for opportunities and not afraid to negotiate

Persistence and enthusiasm to drive projects to a successful end result

Outstanding communication and stakeholder management skills

Drive to deal with day-to-day operations, swift problem-solving skills

A genuine passion for food and/or consumer products

Fluent in English (Dutch, German or French is a plus!)

This is not a one-time hire. We’re hiring for this role throughout the year as part of our ongoing growth and expansion.
