As materials are a core element of Róhe's products, we are looking for a highly organised and proactive Junior Fabric Buyer to manage the fabric sampling and development process.
You will work closely with Design and Development to ensure fabric selections are followed up efficiently, with samples, prices, availability, and all relevant information in place.
You will be responsible for keeping the fabric follow-up process accurate and on schedule, working directly with mills and suppliers.
Main responsibilities- Manage the fabric sampling process from initial Design selection through to sampling approval.
- Follow up with mills and suppliers on samples, prices, availability, lead times, minimums, and fabric specifications.
- Arrange sampling fabrics to be sent to designated manufacturers, ensuring the correct fabrics are available at the right time.
- Coordinate sample orders and shipments and proactively follow up on delays or outstanding actions.
- Ensure all selected fabrics are quoted and all relevant information is accurately recorded in follow-up files and systems.
- Work closely with Design and Development on fabric selections, alternatives, qualities, and colourways.
- Maintain the fabric library and ensure samples are correctly labelled and organised.
- Own the preparation of approved fabrics for bulk, ensuring all commercial, technical, supplier, and logistical information is complete and accurate.
- Ensure a clear and complete handover into bulk, with no outstanding information or open actions.
- 1-3 years' experience in fabric buying, fabric development, product development, or a similar fashion role within a luxury or premium fashion environment.
- Strong interest in textiles and a good understanding of fabrics and compositions.
- Highly organised, structured, flexible, and detail oriented.
- Strong follow-up skills with a proactive, hands-on approach and strong sense of ownership.
- Commercially aware and comfortable working with prices and supplier information.
Excellent Excel and data management skills. - Confident communicating with suppliers and internal teams.
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
- Able to manage multiple collections, suppliers, and simultaneous deadlines.
