Senior Health and Safety Manager (Principal contractor)
Amsterdam | €85,000 + Flights and Living costs and excellent benefits

Irwin and Colton have been engaged by a major principal contractor to recruit a Senior Health and Safety Manager. The organisation is one of the most high-profile contractors in Europe, delivering some of the continent's most recognised and complex developments. They have an excellent track record in health and safety performance, and this role is critical in ensuring those standards are not only maintained but continually enhanced.

Initially, the role will take responsibility for a major data centre project in Amsterdam.

The Senior Health and Safety Manager will be responsible for:

Planning and embedding health and safety throughout the full lifecycle of the development, identifying upcoming challenges and ensuring robust solutions are in place
Maintaining a strong site presence, supporting, advising and coaching contractors to enable the effective delivery of the health and safety strategy
Leading and developing a Health and Safety team
Managing incident investigations, identifying root causes and implementing preventative measures
Proactively identifying opportunities for improvement and sharing best practice across the wider organisation

The successful Senior Health and Safety Manager will have:

Proven leadership experience in a similar role within construction, civil engineering or a related sector, with experience working for a principal contractor on major data centre projects
A strong track record of influencing, engaging and coaching both senior leadership and site-based teams
Ideally a NEBOSH Diploma or NVQ Level 5 (or equivalent), with Chartered IOSH status desirable
Experience implementing progressive occupational health, wellbeing and behavioural safety programmes

Pan-European or wider European project experience would be beneficial.
