Facility Technician

The Facility Technician based in Amsterdam is part of our rotating shift team, providing round the clock support.

Responsibilities include coordinating and prioritizing duties, maintaining accurate records of completed works, and producing shift reports. The role also requires managing shift handovers, securing suitable spares, arranging subcontractor attendance, responding to Building Management System alarms, and ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation. Additionally, the position involves providing customer operational updates, identifying risks and opportunities for improvement, supervising subcontractors, and promoting a safe and healthy working environment.

Key Responsibilities Ensure that routine maintenance is carried out to all building plant, equipment and systems to meet and exceed expectations, and agreed service level agreements.

Responsible for co-ordination, prioritisation and quality of duties.

Complete all records as required, following completion of planned and reactive works.

Produce and issue accurate shift reports at end of shift.

Ensure full, accurate and complete shift handover process is managed.

Ensure that suitable spares are secured and available to carry out maintenance.

Arrange attendance, call out and access of subcontractors as required.

Attend weekly tool box talks and team briefings, as required.

Provide accurate and comprehensive customer operational updates.

Identify and report risk to the clients operation via escalation process.

Identify opportunities for improvements of operation and energy efficiency.

Respond to Building Management System alarms and effect emergency repairs as needed.

Issue and ensure appropriate controls within the Permit to Work system, including Authorisation to Work, and in-process checks are undertaken.

Report and identify all needs for spares required to carry out maintenance of the building plant.

Ensure that comprehensive maintenance records are compiled and retained. This includes updating and closing of all issued reactive, planned and workshop generated work orders on the Concept system.

Ensure that Method Statements and Risk Assessments are prepared for all tasks carried out to ensure safe working practices. Scrutiny of sub-contractors’ RAMS, competency records, and company QHSE requirements prior to PTW/ATW and customer QHSE control procedures.

Ensure that all sub-contractors are appropriately supervised and comply with contractual commitments and site operating processes.

Develop a good working relationship with all members of staff. Motivate and encourage staff under your control.

Ensure the provision of a safe and healthy working environment, and ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures, as well as client site policies, procedures and working arrangements, as required. Including raising and escalating of hazards when raised by staff.

Ensure a professional image of Cyrus One is presented to clients and visitors. Ensure excellence in customer service is delivered and promoted at all times.

Ensure that professional and technical skills are maintained through a commitment to personal development and life-long-learning.

Attend weekly meetings and feedback to all staff as requested by Cyrus One. (project meetings, planning meetings, shift update and handovers etc).Undertake any other tasks reasonably directed by Management.

Complete Concept in a timely and accurate fashion.

Ensure adherence to HSE legislation.

Attend daily operational update meetings.

Proactive awareness and compliance with contractual KPIs/SLAs.Maintain cleanliness of all plant and workshops and  familiar with plant and systems at site and operate them safely, correctly and efficiently. Be familiar with other sites, through familiarisation training. Support other sites and shifts when requested.

Accountabilities:

Accountable to Facility Manager.

Safe operation of the contract (staff and sub-contractors).This post carries no direct budgetary responsibility

Education:

[Essential] A good basic education is essential, with at least GCSE/ BTECs at Level 1-2,/ NVQs at Level 2 with passes in Maths and English or equivalent.
