Job Description & How to Apply Below

Are you a creative maker who doesn’t stay behind a desk, but goes into the field to capture the real story? Do you have a sharp eye for social media trends, are you a hero with your smartphone, tech‑savvy, and eager to use your skills for tangible humanitarian impact? Then this is your role.

About People for People

People for People Foundation connects the business community to targeted humanitarian aid. We translate collective engagement into rapid, concrete action to restore lives in times of crisis. Founded by the founders of bunq, Picnic and Bird, we combine the power of the private sector to provide fast and targeted support to people affected by crises.

Whether it is delivering a school bus in Ukraine, arranging emergency transport for essential aid supplies within 48 hours, or launching a nationwide campaign for thousands of children in crisis‑affected areas: we believe in doing, learning and creating direct impact. No slow bureaucracy, but the speed of a tech scale‑up.

Your role

As a Content Creator and Coordinator, you are the creative engine and the voice of our organisation.

You work closely with and report to our Partnerships & Mar Com Lead. While they set the strategic direction and close partnership deals, you ensure that our organisation and impact become visible, tangible and shareable to the right audience.

You are a true maker. You don’t just write plans, you mainly execute them yourself. You manage our social media channels (Linked In and Instagram), maintain the content calendar, design razor‑sharp visuals and videos in tools such as Canva, and write our newsletters. But most importantly: you go out into the field. You visit project locations (such as reception centres, partner events or logistics hubs) to capture the raw, human stories of our work with your smartphone and translate them into impactful photos and short‑form videos (Reels).

Your

responsibilities
  • On‑ground storytelling: You travel to our projects and initiatives (such as reception centres or logistics hubs) to gather stories. Using your smartphone, you shoot and edit dynamic videos (Reels), take photographs and interview partners and volunteers.
  • Social media & community coordination: You manage and maintain the content calendar for our channels (Linked In and Instagram). You write engaging copy, respond to our community and ensure that we remain top‑of‑mind online with our followers and business partners.
  • Content creation & branding: You independently develop all social media assets, newsletters and website updates. You safeguard our renewed brand identity and do not hesitate to use AI tools to create smarter and faster.
  • Campaign execution: You support the Mar Com Lead in rolling out major impact campaigns and activations. You ensure that all communication assets are online on time, razor‑sharp and of high quality.
  • Newsjacking & experimentation: You closely follow world news and online trends to respond immediately with relevant content. You continuously test which formats and content perform best and use data insights to optimise our online strategy.
Who are we looking for?
  • Experience: At least 2–3 years of experience in social media management, content marketing or online communications.
  • Visual skills: You are highly skilled in smartphone photography and short‑form video editing (e.g. Cap Cut, Reels). You independently shoot and edit video and photo content and have demonstrable experience with this type of production. Experience with Canva is essential; experience with the Adobe suite (Premiere/Illustrator) is a plus.
  • Impact storytelling & safeguarding: You have a strong ability to translate complex and sensitive humanitarian situations into hopeful, motivating and respectful content. In doing so, you always work with attention to do‑no‑harm and safeguarding principles: you know better than anyone how to share stories while preserving the dignity of those involved.
  • Corporate sensitivity & commercial understanding: You understand what motivates companies to collaborate with a social impact organisation. You effortlessly switch to a business‑oriented tone of voice to communicate the impact of our partnerships…
