Quality Systems Manager

Overview

An established international health and wellness retailer is seeking a Quality Systems Manager to lead and evolve its European Quality Management System (QMS), based in Amsterdam.

This role will be responsible for ensuring product safety, regulatory compliance, and quality assurance standards across a diverse portfolio of products. Working cross-functionally with technical, regulatory, supply chain, and commercial teams, the Quality Systems Manager will play a key role in protecting brand integrity and supporting continued international growth.

The position requires a structured, systems-focused quality professional with experience operating within complex, multi-country supply chains.

Key Responsibilities

1. Quality Management Systems & Governance

* Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the European QMS.

* Ensure compliance with EU food safety, supplement, and consumer goods regulations.

* Maintain and control quality documentation, policies, procedures, and specifications.

* Drive internal audit programmes and coordinate external certification audits.

* Manage change control processes and ensure effective CAPA implementation.

* Ensure traceability, product integrity, and risk management systems are robust and effective.

2. Supplier Quality & Technical Assurance

* Oversee supplier approval, onboarding, and ongoing performance monitoring.

* Conduct supplier risk assessments and manage audit programmes.

* Review and approve technical documentation including specifications, test reports, and declarations of conformity.

* Support raw material and finished product compliance across multiple jurisdictions.

* Work closely with procurement and supply chain to mitigate quality and compliance risks.

3. Regulatory & Product Compliance

* Partner with regulatory teams to ensure products meet EU and local market legislation.

* Support product launches by ensuring technical compliance and documentation readiness.

* Monitor regulatory updates and implement system changes where required.

* Manage product quality incidents, investigations, withdrawals, or recalls where necessary.

4. Quality Performance & Continuous Improvement

* Establish and track quality KPIs across the supply base and product categories.

* Analyse complaints, non-conformances, and trend data to drive root cause improvements.

* Promote a culture of quality and compliance across cross-functional teams.

* Lead system harmonisation and digitalisation initiatives where applicable.

5. Stakeholder Engagement

* Act as a key quality contact for internal departments and external partners.

* Provide clear reporting and insight to senior leadership.

* Support commercial and product development teams in maintaining high quality standards.

Candidate Profile

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

* Proven experience in a Quality Systems or Technical Governance role within food, supplements, FMCG, or consumer health products.

* Strong knowledge of EU food law, supplement regulations, and quality standards.

* Experience managing supplier quality within international supply chains.

* Working knowledge of GFSI-recognised standards and quality frameworks.

* Strong audit experience (internal and external).
