Position: Food Application Internship

Mission

Our mission is to decouple protein production from agricultural land and create an era of food abundance for humanity. We use natural fermentation and a renewable-energy based feedstock to produce protein ingredients. While practically all fermentation methods up until now relied on sugars – which are derived from crops grown on agricultural land – we based our fermentation platform on a feedstock which can be made with just renewable energy.

This allows us to bypass the inefficiency of photosynthesis and break free of its limiting constraints.

Team

We're a small, highly technical team with diverse backgrounds from all over the world. Our brewery, R&D, test kitchen and offices are all integrated under a single roof, optimized for high speed iteration.

The Role

At Farmless, we're offering an exciting internship opportunity where you help shape the future of food production. We are looking for a motivated Food Application intern who will join our team to create the best Food Applications using Farmless’ Postbiotic Protein! The role requires creative thinking combined with a deep understanding of Food Ingredient Functionality.

Responsibilities
  • Research various food ingredient functionality properties of Farmless’ Postbiotic Protein, and link them to fermentation and harvest parameters, and investigate how to improve them.
  • Research various food sensory properties of Farmless’ Postbiotic Protein, and link them to fermentation and harvest parameters, and investigate how to improve them.
  • Develop various food formulations together with the food application team, and help to understand how Farlems’ Postbiotic Protein behaves in these.
  • Support business development in product demonstrations.
Requirements
  • A background in food technology and/or bioprocess technology. Culinary experience is a plus.
  • Hands‑on experience with ingredient functionality and/or sensory characterisation techniques and data documentation.
  • Team player with excellent English proficiency.
  • We only hire interns that need to do a mandatory internship to graduate from university.
