Coach intellectual disability

Coach someone with an intellectual disability!

You become the coach of a local resident with a slight intellectual disability. Often it is not visible that they have a limitation. You are going to do fun things together in the neighborhood. Step by step you coach your buddy in achieving a goal. For example, when making contact with others, finding a fun activity and discovering someone's interests and talents.

Based on, among other things, interests and availability, we make a nice match between you and one of our participants! Neighborhood mates are active in Amsterdam North, East, West, South and Southeast.

What do we expect from you?

• You are patient and enjoy helping people
• You have a positive and enthusiastic attitude
• You know how to motivate people and look at their possibilities
• You like to work independently and take initiative easily
• You are available on average 2 hours per week

Time investment

2 hours per week (or every other week) for at least 6 months. Times / days are in consultation.

You make an important contribution to combating loneliness among the target group. Through your help someone goes more out of the door and the self-confidence is increased. Someone can get to know new people and experience new activities that they alone do not dare to go to. So you can mean a lot to someone! There are opportunities for you to (further) develop in the field of coaching and working with the target group.
