Are you passionate about building high-quality, scalable software and data products through advanced automation and performance testing? Do you enjoy collaborating with cross-functional teams to solve complex quality and data challenges in a fast-paced technology environment?
Our team builds Leap Space, the research companion for the people working at the frontier of human knowledge: researchers, clinicians, and innovators advancing science, healthcare, and life sciences. We help them ask better questions, follow ideas across disciplines, and reach decisions they can stand behind. Leap Space fits into the real workflow of a researcher. It reads with them, drafts with them, and remembers context across a project, so the heavy lifting of reviewing literature, comparing evidence, and structuring arguments becomes lighter and faster.
Our team shapes every part of that experience, from the moment a user types a question to the moment they cite a result in their work.
In this role, you will design, build, and execute automation, performance, and data quality testing to ensure the delivery of reliable, high-performing products. You will work closely with engineering, product, and operations teams to embed quality practices early and drive continuous improvement across testing processes.
Responsibilities- Develop, enhance, and execute automation suites (UI, API, data quality) for assigned projects, ensuring consistent delivery of high-quality software and data products
- Design and execute performance tests, collaborating with engineering and architecture teams to identify bottlenecks, scalability gaps, and system constraints
- Perform data quality validations, including schema checks, transformation logic verification, data completeness, and anomaly detection
- Partner with Product, Project Management, Engineering, and Operations to plan testing that meets quality, performance, and reliability goals
- Ensure test coverage aligns with functional, non-functional, data integrity, and performance requirements
- Build and maintain automation frameworks, recommending improvements and identifying areas where automation can increase efficiency or coverage
- Participate in design and requirements reviews to ensure testability and quality considerations are integrated early
- Collaborate with developers and architects to research and identify root causes for defects, performance issues, and data anomalies
- 3+ years of QA Test Engineering experience, including hands‑on automation
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience
- Experience validating data‑intensive systems and high‑volume datasets
- Experience testing RESTful APIs, microservices, and distributed systems
- Exposure to performance and load testing practices/tools
- Experience testing modern frontend applications (e.g., React, Angular, Vue)
- Strong understanding of QA methodologies and best practices
- Hands‑on experience with test automation, preferably with Playwright, or similar tools (e.g., Cypress, Selenium)
- Experience with REST API testing (Postman, REST‑assured, or equivalent)
- Strong understanding of data quality testing, including validation of data pipelines, transformation logic, edge cases, and schema consistency
- Exposure to performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, Gatling, Locust)
- Solid understanding of software development processes, CI/CD pipelines, and Dev Ops‑aligned testing
- Experience testing modern frontend web applications, including DOM interaction, accessibility, cross‑browser behavior, and rendering performance
- Strong analytical and root cause analysis skills
- Ability to identify continuous improvement opportunities in testing frameworks, infrastructure, and processes
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Familiarity with testing in cloud‑based environments is a plus
- Understanding of industry QA trends, tooling, automation best practices, and emerging test methodologies
