Senior Salesforce Developer

About the Role
The Digital Team is looking for a Senior Salesforce Developer. In this role you are responsible for designing and developing new features in our digital (Salesforce) platforms using Apex, Lightning Web Components and, increasingly, AI capabilities such as Agentforce. You report to the Salesforce Architect and work closely with other members of the Digital scrum team, a fun team with skilled people from various nationalities based in our headquarters in Amsterdam and in Pune.

About the Team
The Digital Team at Top Employers Institute is responsible for the development and support of the digital platforms which includes Salesforce Sales Cloud, Experience Cloud (Portal), Pardot, CRM Analytics, Service Cloud, Data Cloud, Agentforce, etc. These digital platforms support the core business processes for Marketing, Sales, Operations (Certifications) and Finance, and provide our clients with access to the survey, analytical insights and best practices.

We are increasingly building AI capabilities, such as Salesforce Agentforce and Einstein, into these platforms and into the way we work.

What You’ll Do

• Designs and develops solutions on the Salesforce platform using Apex, Lightning Web Components, Flow and platform APIs
• Designs and builds AI-powered capabilities on the Salesforce platform together with the Salesforce Architect, such as Agentforce agents with custom actions (Apex, Flow, APIs), prompt templates and Einstein features
• Works with the Salesforce Architect and other team members to ensure that designs for new developments fit in the overall solution architecture
• Actively contributes in sprint ceremonies: refinements, planning, reviews and retrospectives
• Collaborates with other developers during code reviews and unit testing
• Delivers concise documentation of implemented features
• Supports the continuous integration and deployment tools and processes
• Uses AI-assisted development tools (Claude, Cursor, etc) to work faster and at higher quality, while remaining fully accountable for reviewing, testing and securing everything that is delivered
• Exchanges knowledge and ideas with other team members

Key Areas & Main Activities
Contributing in the application development process:

• Designs, develops and maintains (new) features on the Salesforce platform
• Documents, tests and deploys Salesforce features
• Designs, develops and maintains integrations of applications with the Salesforce platform
• Designs, develops and tests AI features on the Salesforce platform (for example Agentforce agents and actions, prompt templates and integrations with AI services), grounded in Salesforce data and with guardrails for accuracy, security, data privacy and cost

Gain and share knowledge:

• Stays informed on and shares knowledge about the ins and outs of the Salesforce platform, architecture and development best practices
• Pro-actively reaches out to colleagues to understand company goals, delivery processes, business processes, existing implementations, etc.
• Keeps up with the Salesforce AI roadmap (Agentforce, Einstein, Data Cloud), evaluates where AI adds value to our business processes and shares findings and good practices with the team

What We’re Looking For
Qualification Criteria:

• Good communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Experience with working in an international organization
• 5+ years experience with hands-on Apex and Lightning Web Components development and with Salesforce Solution Architecture
• Strong understanding of the Salesforce platform, its limitations and best practices to develop scalable solutions
• Understanding of how generative AI works and of its limitations (such as hallucinations, data privacy and cost), and the ability to apply it responsibly in solutions
• Experience using AI coding assistants in day-to-day development, combined with disciplined code review and testing of generated code
• Good knowledge of Git Hub tooling and experience with Dev Ops processes, such as source-driven development with the Salesforce CLI and CI/CD pipelines
• Experience with Experience Cloud (Customer Communities) is a plus
• Integrations (REST, SOAP, External Apps, Oauth, Named Credentitals)
• Hands-on experience building AI features on Salesforce (Agentforce, Prompt Builder, Einstein, or calling external AI services from Apex) is a plus

• Salesforce Platform App Builder (required)
• Salesforce Platform Developer I (required)
• Salesforce Platform Developer II (preferred)
