Third Engineer

With a fleet of more than 100 multipurpose cargo vessels, the Spliethoff Group manages one of the largest fleets in the Netherlands. Within this fleet we have vacancies for Officers and Ratings, licensed for vessels above 3000 GT and 3000 kW.

The vessels are trading worldwide. Transportation of forest products such as paper, pulp and sawn timber is a core activity next to project cargoes, generals, containers and bulk. One day you could be loading paper in the depths of a Baltic winter and a couple of weeks later discharging in the tropics. Then again, it could be containers or a complicated project cargo - always a lot of work and never a dull moment!

• Used to working with European crew
• Experience with Wartsila engines is an advantage but not required
• Hands on mentality, motivated and committed to the vessel, hard working
• Welding is also a requirement
• Good command of English language
• Familiarity with 24 hour watch schedule in engine room is an advantage but not required
