Emergency Department Technician - Emergency Department, Part-Time, Night shift

Island Health is offering a $4,000 sign-on bonus for an experienced Emergency Department Technician for our Part-Time Night Shift at our hospital in Anacortes, WA.

Schedule:

0.6 FTE / 24 hours weekly, Night shift 7:00 pm – 7:30 am.

Salary Range: $21.98 – $32.65 per hour.

• Night Differential: $2.25
• Evening Differential: $1.65
• Weekend Differential: $1.50

Job Responsibilities

• Transport patients to rooms or treatment rooms; use wheelchair, stretcher, or assist walking.
• Obtain and document vital signs (blood pressure, heart rate, respiration rate, temperature, pain level) and place appropriate patients on the cardiac monitor.
• Answer call lights, determine patients’ needs, assist with dressing, toileting, etc.
• Assist with examinations and treatments such as pelvic exams, chest tube placements, wound care, laceration repair, and closed reduction of limbs.
• Verify discharge sheets, return valuable items, distribute charts.
• Place surgery packs and consent on chart.
• Take specimens to lab; direct patients/visitors.
• Retrieve medical records on admits after hours.

Job Requirements

• Completion of a Certified Nursing Assistant course of study.
• Current Washington State Certified Nursing Assistant registration.
• Current Basic Life Support Certification.
• Experience working in a busy clinical setting with changing priorities preferred.
