• Assist Director in implementing quality strategies and tactics to reach organizational and departmental goals.
• Screen, interview, and hire staff as needed.
• Facilitate completion of the orientation process for new staff members.
• Develop staff plans and review frequently to assure appropriate staffing at Director’s request.
• Assist Director with rounds on new staff members evaluating onboarding process, staff fit, and making necessary adjustments.
• Assist with establishing and maintaining department‑specific onboarding processes, including orientation checklists, competency evaluations, and collaboration with Nurse Educator, preceptors, and Clinical Program Coordinator for educational needs.
• Assist Director to provide an excellent patient experience by implementing and enforcing initiatives, projects, programs, and standards.
• Utilize shared governance concept of nursing practice and decision‑making in collaboration with the Director.
• Demonstrate knowledge of and enforce regulatory compliance with accrediting and licensing bodies such as DNV and the State Department of Health, along with hospital and patient care policies, procedures and standards.
• Educate and coach staff members regarding department expectations and opportunities for improvement under the direction of the Director.
• Manage daily operations of the department as delegated by the Director.
• Create and maintain staff schedules within productivity standards, budget, and patient needs.
• Serve as a resource/consultant with the Charge Nurse for daily scheduling, staffing needs, and manage productivity.
• Assist with direct patient care and charge nurse responsibilities as needed in emergent situations.
• Monitor the department for tidiness and comfort and ensure daily tasks are completed.
• Ensure needed supplies and equipment are available, and order essential supplies and equipment as needed.

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current WA State RN license.
• Current Basic Life Support certification.
• Previous supervisory or management experience strongly preferred.
• Completion of Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
• Advanced certification in medical/surgical or ICU care encouraged.
