Business Development Manager - West

This is a management level business-to-business food products sales position. The Business Development Manager develops and maintains profitable business relationships with food industry decision makers primarily in the grocery channel, as well as distributor, food service, and industrial channels in North America. The ideal candidate will reside in the greater Seattle area and work in our corporate headquarters up to 3 days per week, but fully remote may be considered.

• Develop and execute effective sales plans and merchandising strategies for the marketing of specialty surimi seafood products, including clean label versions of our most popular items.
• Aim to achieve or exceed sales and distribution goals.
• Develop and maintain relationships with key personnel in current and target accounts.
• Participate in corporate headquarters sales presentations, trade shows and end-user presentations.
• Collaborate with senior management and marketing staff to develop trade marketing plans, including media and promotional strategies and tactics.
• Identify growth opportunities for our established brands and for our pipeline of new products.
• Enthusiastic representation of the brand at product demos, corporate events and trade shows.
• Participation in the annual revenue budgeting process; determine forecasts and budget updates upon request.
• Review and negotiate contracts, pricing and promotional programs.
• Provide clear visibility of account status and your account development efforts through diligent maintenance of our CRM platform.
• Observe and report competitor activity; develop or adjust sales plans accordingly.
• Coordinate with our Logistics team when necessary to help ensure delivery timelines meet customer expectations.
• Coordinate with our Quality and Accounting teams to satisfy vendor set-up requests.
• Provide senior management with status, performance and budget reports.

• Prior grocery channel sales experience. Prior seafood category experience is not required.
• Quantifiable business to business sales experience and ability
• A professional corporate image and demeanor
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Digitally literate and administratively self sufficient
• Able to travel at short notice to address customer needs and concerns
• Speak, read, and write English

• 5+ years of experience in consumer packaged goods (CPG) sales, including field and headquarter experience.
• Experience working with banner leadership, category managers, and other decision makers in the Grocery channel is greatly valued.
• Experience selling meat and seafood products.
• Previous corporate level business to business sales experience.
• Experience garnering and conducting high level meetings (Manager to C-suite)
• Experience and training in the food industry with emphasis on sales and distribution.

• Salary of $60,000 plus commission. The current average compensation for this role within our organization is $120,000 per year, with no commission cap.
