The Transload Operator's primary responsibility is to safely unload and switch railcars in a timely manner.- The position of Transload Operator is responsible for the daily unloading of materials consisting of a variety of bulk liquids
- Ability to understand and follow operating procedures and policies, to operate or learn to operate railcar loading systems and equipment, to operate or learn to operate Class 1 locomotives, to perform or learn to perform switch operations, to perform work safely and productively
- Interest in being cross-trained on all functions at the facility
- Perform general maintenance on equipment and a ssist with handyman duties within the facility (general maintenance, landscape upkeep & painting)
- Interact with plant people, railroad crews, and visitors
- For safety reasons, you must be able to read, write, understand, and follow written and/or verbal instructions in English
- Must be able to obtain a TWIC card
- High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
- Valid Driver's License
- Capable of learning how to operate and maintain Class 1 Power Units (no CDL required), Railcar/trans loading equipment (e.g., Hoses, portable conveyors, transfer pumps, portable stair systems, small to medium-sized equipment, etc.)
- Physically able to climb up and down railcars, ladders, and stairs safely; comfortable working at heights
- Willing to receive general safety training
- Ability to work outside in all weather conditions
- Willing to work with liquid non-hazardous bulk materials
- Can carry at least fifty (50) pounds, in good physical condition (able to walk one (1) to two (2) miles per shift)
