Senior Accountant

Job Summary

Control Air is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced to join our finance team. This role will oversee complex accounting functions, including sales tax return preparation, property tax filings (Form 571-L), project accounting, and monthly reconciliations with adjusting entries. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of accounting principles, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

• Perform monthly account reconciliations and enter required adjusting journal entries to ensure accurate financial reporting
• Reconcile general ledger accounts and maintain accuracy of financial data
• Manage project accounting, including tracking costs, revenue recognition, and budget-to-actual analysis (knowledge of ASC 606 a plus)
• Assist with internal and external audits by preparing documentation and providing explanations
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and internal management reporting requests
• Prepare government compliance reports including sales tax returns, property tax filings, and census reports
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required; CPA certification preferred
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including tax and project accounting
• Experience with project-based accounting systems (e.g., Deltek, Sage, Net Suite, or similar)
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and accounting software
• Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills

• Salary Range : $100,000 – $125,000 annually
