A Day in the Life – What You’ll Be Doing- Assist the Designer in creating styles from concept to completion in whatever capacity is required.
- Design, recreate, manipulate and recolor prints using Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator and Streamline.
- Generate computer sketches and drapes final drawings with correct pattern, colors, graphics and trims.
- Manage communications between the design function and non‑design team members.
- Help execute the concept of the designer with critical attention to detail and a sense of urgency to meet all department deadlines.
- Generate spec packages in PDM for factories to develop initial prototypes—including establishing measurement points on a garment.
- Maintain PDM and other archival systems.
- Monitor development of pre‑production samples in partnership with Product Managers.
- Conduct market research to stay informed on industry shifts.
- Prepare complete spec packages for every garment in a timely manner and to standard.
- Attend fittings and communicate fit details with or without the Designer.
- Prepare for meetings, organize programs and communicate style info to merchants and product development.
- Work with Product Managers to monitor lab dip, hand loom and strike‑off approvals.
- Minimum 2‑year AA Degree in Design/Fashion Merchandising, or equivalent experience.
- Experience with Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and related design software.
- Strong sense of trends and market direction concerning color, fabric and silhouette.
- Knowledge of garment construction, pattern making, textiles and current finishing techniques.
- 0–3 years design experience, including fabric sourcing, technical design, trim development and color training.
- Computer proficiency on PC, MAC and CAD.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.

This is a full‑time position. Occasional evening and/or weekend work may be required during periods of high volume. The role operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment.
