Job Description

REPORTS TO: Director

EVALUATIONS: Conducted on an annual basis in accordance with KASEC guidelines

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Length of employment, salary and benefits determined by the Board of Directors of KASEC

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Technical

Skills:
  • Administer and interpret psychological assessments of students
  • Prepare recommendations regarding the evaluation and services for students
  • Consult with teachers, administrators, specialists, agency and district personnel, and parents
  • Counsel students; coordinate behavior management programs
  • Provide psycho-educational assessments of students for districts and programs and participate in resulting Individual Educational Program (IEP) meetings
  • Interpret psycho-educational assessment results
  • Develop student goals and objectives
  • Facilitate IEP meetings, as required
  • Provide written reports analyzing, interpreting, and summarizing test results, observations and information from school personnel, students and parents
  • Act as liaison between public and private agencies and county programs
  • Develop, coordinate and provide training to staff, parents, agency and district personnel
  • Maintain professional competencies in areas of responsibility
  • Maintain contact with and participate in professional job-related organizations and serve as a liaison to professional groups
  • Lead psycho-education groups or social-emotional groups
  • Professionalism

  • Conduct continual assessment of personal and program effectiveness
  • Demonstrate flexibility and be able to adapt to change

  • Conduct self in appropriate and ethical manner
