JOB DESCRIPTION

Teach the U.S. History survey courses, HIST 170 and 171 (U.S. History ).

The award of all degrees must be verifiable on a legible transcript. If degree award date is not posted on transcript your application will be deemed incomplete and removed from consideration.

Minimum Qualifications:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Master’s in history

OR

Bachelor’s in history AND Master’s in political science, humanities, geography, area studies, women’s studies, social science or ethnic studies

OR

Possess a valid California teaching credential authorizing service in a community college in the appropriate subject matter area.

OR

The equivalent. Equivalent qualifications may include related education, training, employment and professional experience that would be equal to the required degree(s) and experience in this field as determined by the District Equivalency Committee.

Expertise and teaching experience in introductory U.S. History courses.

Expertise and experience in teaching introductory World History courses.

Experience designing and teaching curricula responsive to the needs of historically underrepresented and/or marginalized students.

Salary Range: $1391.74 - $1527.30 per lecture unit rate, $1391.74 - $1527.30 per lab parity unit rate, $1113.42 - $1221.77 per lab unit rate

Summary:

SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS SUMMARY

This recruitment will remain active for a period of one year, from the position opening date. If there is no longer a need to fill, the position may be closed sooner, and applicants will be notified.
This is a continuous recruitment to fill part-time, and temporary faculty assignments on an as-needed basis. When the need to fill arises, the department will refer to this pool of part-time faculty.
