About the Role

We are looking for a knowledgeable Aerospace Estimator with hands‑on experience in CNC machining (3‑axis & 5‑axis) and/or sheet metal fabrication. In this role, you’ll review customer drawings and RFQs, determine manufacturing requirements, and prepare detailed cost estimates that help guide company decisions and support customers’ mission‑critical programs.

If you enjoy solving manufacturing challenges, collaborating with engineering teams, and working with cutting‑edge aerospace components—this is a great fit for you.

What You’ll Do
  • Review customer RFQs and technical drawings to understand project scope and manufacturing requirements
  • Develop accurate cost estimates for materials, labor, tooling, machining, and outside processing
  • Prepare and submit formal quote packages in a timely and professional manner
  • Read and interpret CAD models, drawings, BOMs, and specifications to determine process flow
  • Collaborate with engineering, production, purchasing, suppliers, and customer account teams
  • Identify outside vendor needs, send RFQs, and evaluate supplier quotes
  • Use ERP systems, spreadsheets, and estimating tools to build reliable, traceable estimates
  • Consider compliance, quality standards, and documentation needs (AS9100, ITAR, DFARS, NADCAP)
  • Maintain cost and tooling databases and contribute to continuous improvement efforts
  • Support both prototype and production‑level estimating projects
Qualifications
  • 3+ years of estimating experience in CNC machining and/or sheet metal manufacturing
  • Strong understanding of 3‑axis & 5‑axis machining, fabrication methods, and aerospace requirements
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and apply GD&T principles
  • Experience preparing quotes for aerospace or defense components is highly preferred
  • Familiarity with AS9100D, ITAR, DFARS, NADCAP standards
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative, solution‑oriented mindset
  • Comfortable using ERP systems and Excel to generate quotes
  • Associate’s degree preferred, but experience is strongly valued
