YOUR NEXT OPPORTUNITY:

As an Audio Video Commissioning Manager, you will lead and manage a team of commissioning engineers and technicians responsible for delivering world‑class AV systems across Company projects. You’ll oversee project assignments, ensure quality standards are met, and support the professional development of your team members.

This role is ideal for a commissioning professional ready to transition into leadership, combining technical expertise with people management and operational oversight. You will partner closely with project managers, field leadership, and clients to ensure successful system turnover and client satisfaction.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Directly supervise a team of AV commissioning engineers and technicians (typically 4–10 team members)
  • Assign staff to projects, monitor workload balance, and ensure delivery milestones are achieved
  • Provide coaching, mentoring, and technical support to commissioning team members
  • Collaborate with project managers, field supervisors, and operations leaders to align commissioning schedules with project requirements
  • Oversee QA/QC practices, ensuring all systems meet Company and industry standards before client turnover
  • Serve as an escalation point for technical and personnel issues on commissioning projects
  • Support recruiting, hiring, and onboarding of new AV commissioning staff
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback in alignment with Company leadership values
  • Contribute to development of process improvements, best practices, and standard work for AV commissioning
  • Participate in client‑facing meetings, representing our commissioning as a trusted partner
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, building codes, and contractual obligations

WHAT YOU BRING TO US:

  • 10+ years of experience in AV commissioning, installation, or systems engineering
  • Minimum 2–3 years of supervisory or team lead experience preferred
  • Strong understanding of AVIXA standards and commissioning best practices
  • Proficient with advanced DSP configuration, control system programming verification, and advanced signal flow debugging
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Crestron Foundations of Programming (P101), Crestron Smartgraphics and Construct,Crestron Digital Media Technician, Crestron DM‑NVX Designer (DMC‑D‑NVX), Crestron Intelligent Video - Certified Designer IVC‑D, Crestron Networks Solutions - Introduction,Extron Control Specialist, Extron XTP Systems Design Engineer, Extron ProDSP Specialist,Netgear AV Certification Level 1, QSC Q‑SYS Level 1, QSC Q‑SYS Video 101, QSC Q‑SYS Control 101, QSC Q‑SYS Control & UCI Fundimentals, QSC Q‑SYS Vision Suite ACPR Level 1, QSC Q‑SYS Vision Suite Seervision Level 1, Biamp Vocia, Biamp Tesira AV Programming Level 1, Valcom IP6000 IP Based Intercom, Shure Integrated Systems Certification Level 1, Dante Level 1 required
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across field teams, operations, and clients
  • Demonstrated ability to manage workloads, coach technical staff, and maintain quality standards
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience)

TRAVEL:

  • Up to 20% – includes travel for field assessments, vendor oversight, and team support.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • General work environment – sitting for long periods, standing, walking, typing, carrying, pushing, bending. Work is conducted primarily indoors with varying environmental conditions such as fluorescent lighting and air conditioning
  • Noise level is usually low to medium; it can be loud on the jobsite.
