The Senior Safety Professional, supporting Construction Safety Management position serves as a key technical resource for project construction safety for Walt Disney Imagineering (WDI) projects.

This is a temporary Project Hire role until October 2028.

The Senior Safety Professional will report to a Senior Manager, Worldwide Safety
.

What You Will Do

On any given day, as a Senior Safety Professional, you might:

  • Partner with contractors to ensure compliance with relevant regulatory and industry standards and practices including trenching, scaffolding, fall protection, electrical, cranes, heavy equipment, etc.
  • Investigate and propose innovative and practical safety solutions while ensuring risk mitigation/minimization and safety/regulatory compliance.
  • Articulate to project leadership and contractors applicable standards, regulations, data (lagging and leading), emerging technologies, best practices, and risk reduction techniques.
  • Provide construction safety risk and safety input during all phases of projects.
  • Effectively communicate identified trends, significant near misses and incidents with project and safety leadership.
Required Qualifications & Skills

Here’s what you need to be successful at this job:

  • 5+ years of construction safety, industrial safety and health experience, safety engineering, or related.
  • In-depth knowledge of relevant regulatory and industry standards and best practices as well as internal company standards and business practices.
  • Self‑driven and resourceful professional with the ability to solve problems outside areas of expertise.
  • Experience in safety of multi‑trade construction activities and construction safety industry/regulatory standards.
  • Demonstrated flexibility and ability to operate within an ambiguous and changing environment.
  • Proven strong planning, organization and prioritization skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated problem‑solving and decision‑making skills.
  • Ability to resolve conflicts and diffuse difficult situations.
  • Demonstrated strong consultative and influencing skills.
Preferred Qualifications

It would be great if you also have:

  • Associate Safety Professional (ASP) or Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) or Certified Safety Professional (CSP) designation.
  • OSHA 500 trainer.
Required Education

Bachelor degree in Occupational Safety, Safety Engineering, Construction Safety, Engineering, Architecture or related.

Preferred Education
  • Bachelor degree in Occupational Safety, Safety Engineering, Construction Safety, Engineering, Architecture or related.
  • Advanced degree in Occupational Safety, Safety Engineering, Construction Safety, Engineering, Architecture or related.

The hiring range for this position in California is $-$ per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long‑term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
