Overview
The City of Anaheim is seeking experienced Police Officers to join the Anaheim Police Department for patrol assignments. The mission of the department is to maintain order, protect the community, and prevent crime by delivering prompt, professional, and high‑quality police service.
Pay and Benefits- Bilingual Pay
: 2.5 %, 5 % or 7.5 % depending on level of ability and approval from the Chief of Police. - POST Certificate Salary Ranges – Basic: $95,243.20 to $ annually;
Intermediate: $ to $ annually;
Advanced: $ to $ annually. - Residence Incentive Program.

- Patrol assigned area and interact with the community; work collaboratively with residents to identify and solve problems.
- Receive calls through dispatch and respond to police service requests, including medical assistance and first aid.
- Perform problem‑oriented policing functions and duties.
- Carry out all aspects of police work in accordance with department training and policy, including but not limited to: interviewing/questioning individuals; conducting lawful stops, pursuits, searches, detentions, citations, and arrests; securing crime and accident scenes; collecting and preserving evidence; responding to traffic accidents; completing accurate, timely reports; and presenting evidence in court.
- Investigate crimes, perform administrative duties, conduct crime prevention, and train other personnel as required.
- A minimum of 21 years of age and a California POST Basic Certificate (or higher) by date of appointment.
- Valid California Driver’s License.
- High School Graduate or G.E.D. Certificate.
- In‑state lateral candidates must be currently employed as a Police Officer with a California law enforcement agency and have a valid POST Basic Certificate or higher.
- Out‑of‑state candidates must obtain a California POST Basic Course Waiver.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States under federal law.
- California residency within a 100‑mile radius of the City.
Physical ability to stand, sit for long periods, lift, carry, push, and pull an adult; climb walls, fences and stairs; and perform physical restraint as required. Environmental exposure to smoke, fumes, gas, electricity, heat, cold, inclement weather, noise, chemicals, solvents, and radiation may occur.

Physical Ability Test (PAT) and oral interview are tentatively scheduled for Saturday, February 28, 2026
. Successful candidates will be interviewed by a background investigator after the oral interview.
