Our Bakeshop supports hotel banquet events and Napa Rose, an award-winning fine dining restaurant. This fall, Napa Rose will unveil a bold new menu and a redesigned space, continuing its legacy of redefining fine dining in California.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare products according to recipe guidelines
  • Uphold kitchen safety and sanitation, including temperature requirements
  • Assess food quality and production, understanding the impact of spoilage
  • Assist Chef in preparing items for guests with special dietary needs
  • Operate tools, measurements, ingredients, equipment, small wares, and cooking required for a bakery
  • Clean kitchen equipment and practice HACCP procedures

Pastry Chef/Head Baker

  • Create and design specialty desserts and show pieces
  • Lead cake decorating for weddings and special events
  • Call Guests and Event Planners to discuss custom cake designs
  • GCH Bakeshop only:
    • Act as food stylist for banquets and specialty restaurants
    • Present and discuss specialty pastry/cake designs with Banquet Event Clients
    • Role model technical skills required for baker/pastry production
Basic Qualifications
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Passion for pastry & baking and delighting guests with food for an unforgettable Disney culinary experience
  • Strong experience with cakes, plated desserts, and working in banquet/restaurant environments
  • Minimum of 2 years in culinary field/restaurants, or culinary degree with relevant high-volume experience
  • Knowledge of culinary techniques and terminology
  • Ability to follow recipes in a mass-volume environment
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced kitchen
  • Strong listening skills and ability to take direction
  • Strong piping skills
  • Desire to provide excellent guest service and be a team player
  • Flexible to work a variety of shifts, including days, nights, weekends, holidays, and special events
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with mousse, pate a choux, and French macarons
  • Experience plating fine dining desserts
  • Detailed cake decorating and show pieces experience
  • Completed culinary education program or equivalent leadership experience
  • Bilingual

SCHEDULE AVAILABILITY
Our Theme Parks and Resort Hotels operate 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Some shifts may start as early as 5:00am and end as late as 3:00am, 4:00am, or 5:00am.
