Field Technician

Field Technician Lawrence Doors, Inc., a leader in the commercial door industry, and a part of Amarr / ASSA ABLOY Group (the global leader in opening solutions), is seeking a crewman (commercial door installer / door repair technician apprentice) to work at our Anaheim Branch.
Must be dependable, mechanical, able to read dimensions and use a tape measure.

Position Overview:

The Crewman is responsible for assisting Foreman with commercial door installations and repairs, by checking on truck and materials, loading of tools, equipment, ladders, and materials. Ensuring safe backing out of driveways, safety coning off work area, and driveways, as needed and ensuring a safe environment prior to beginning installation, or repairs. This may include getting customers’ signatures on paperwork, and confirming the correct location, prior to installation.

The role may involve, use of hoists, scissor lifts, and forklifts.

Key Responsibilities:

* - Helping to keep truck clean and cabinets organized.* - Writing up repair work orders and assisting foreman with getting signatures from customer.* - Working safely by coning off work areas, and inspecting ladders before use* - Assist foreman with installations and repairs; while learning and training to run your own truck.* - Leaving work area swept, and cleaner than you found it.
* - Look for other potential work by scoping other doors on time and material jobs.* - Follow safety policies including lockout/tagout and proper material handling.* - Maintain a clean and organized shop.* - Reporting any possible repairs to power tools and service truck in a timely manner.

Job Requirements:

* - High school diploma or equivalent preferred.* - Stick Welding skills a must* - 1–2 years of experience in using hand and power tools* - Experience using hoists or cranes to handle steel coils (training/certification a plus).* - Knowledge of 18-to-24-gauge sheet metal properties and safe handling practices.* - Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality, safety, and documentation.
* - Good communication and teamwork skills.* - Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for long periods.
