Role Overview This position will function as an Applications Developer/Analyst. The primary responsibility is project support and the maintenance of business applications, which includes upgrade initiatives, development of apps, reports, and interfaces, along with user support and application testing activities.

Key Responsibilities
* Maintain various applications for city departments, including application upgrades, patch maintenance, and other related maintenance activities.
* Develop and maintain related applications and interfaces in support of departmental initiatives.
* Gather business requirements and document specifications for the development of applications, reports, and interfaces.
* Migrate and test the implementation of business applications from using .net domain to .gov domain.
* Remediate applications for compliance following WCAG/ADA accessibility rules.
* Implement and enforce processes for application migration, testing, and support maintenance.
* Provide production support for business applications, technical environments, and interfacing systems by assisting peers and users in troubleshooting issues.
* Prioritize and assign target completion dates for fixes and change orders in concurrence with application users and team members.
* Follow existing business processes and operational guidelines when supporting business application users, vendors, and maintenance activities.
* Follow through on project development/production issues and customer inquiries to ensure resolution and proper root-cause analysis.
* Coordinate with staff, applications, and software vendors regarding business applications support, incidents, and issue resolution.
* Support 24x7 business operations and be available onsite during business hours.

Required Qualifications
*
* Education:

** A college degree preferably in the fields of Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
*
* Experience:

*** At least three years of hands-on coding experience using SQL.
* At least three years of work experience as an applications developer using C# and the .NET platform.
* At least two years of work experience using the Linux platform.
* At least one year of work experience developing reports using any reporting tool such as Power BI, Crystal Reports, or Cognos.
* At least two years of work experience using a container/platform such as Docker or Podman.
* At least two years of experience in Java development, CI/CD, and containerization.
** Technical

Skills:

*** Problem-solving, troubleshooting/issue resolution, and organization/planning skills.
* Knowledge of any relational databases such as MS SQL Server, Oracle, or PostgreSQL.
* Ability to multi-task and provide off-hours support for production-related business applications issues/incidents and/or technical environment support.
* Verbal communications, interpersonal skills, and documentation skills.
* Ability to learn quickly and adapt to a multi-platform technical environment.
