TDL Staffing is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant for a full-time, in-office opportunity in Anchorage. This position offers the opportunity to apply advanced general ledger accounting, financial analysis, and reporting expertise while collaborating with accounting and operational teams to support financial accuracy, strengthen internal controls, and improve accounting processes.
Key Responsibilities- Manage advanced general ledger accounting, including journal entries, accruals, account reconciliations, and adjustments.
- Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities.
- Prepare financial statements, financial reports, and supporting schedules in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
- Analyze financial results, investigate discrepancies, and identify trends or variances.
- Support project accounting, revenue recognition, billing reconciliation, and contract closeout activities.
- Maintain accurate accounting records and help improve internal controls and accounting processes.
- Prepare audit documentation and assist with financial audits.
- Collaborate with accounting and operational teams to resolve issues and improve financial reporting.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a closely related field.
- Minimum 4 years of progressively responsible accounting experience involving general ledger accounting, reconciliations, financial reporting, and financial analysis.
- Strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and experience applying accounting principles to financial transactions.
- Experience preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, financial statements, and audit-support schedules.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with enterprise accounting or ERP software.
- Background screening is a part of the hiring process.
- Must successfully complete required drug screening.
- Support a drug free work environment.
Experience in government contracting, project-based accounting, or public accounting is a plus. Familiarity with Deltek Costpoint, ASC 606/842, or CPA credentials or candidacy is also valued but not required.
