JOB SUMMARY

The Fleet Financial Analyst will provide critical analysis to senior management, in support of Company's goals of fleet optimization and return on capital. This position requires a deep understanding of heavy equipment and truck fleet operations and fleet lifecycle management.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
  • Prepare and analyze fleet cost and utilization, in establishing fleet optimization strategies to maximize return on capital

  • Prepare financial models to assess return on capital of fleet investments through discounted cash flow modeling (NPV, IRR)

  • Prepare and maintain operating dashboards and reports, highlighting key fleet metrics regarding total cost of ownership, maintenance costs & trends, etc.

  • Support the monthly and annual forecast/budget process and month-end accounting close process for equipment business lines

  • Partner with operations to identify cost optimization strategies, improve asset utilization, and facilitate preventive maintenance planning of fleet through data-driven insights.

  • Analyze historical maintenance and repair data to forecast future costs and support capital planning

  • Project future equipment replacement needs and determine the optimal replacement timing for each asset based on cost and performance.

  • Track and analyze performance against key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide recommendations to enhance fleet performance.

  • Ensure all accounting and financial activities are in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Company policies and procedures.

  • Work cross-functionally with other departments within the Company.

  • Comply with Company and customer policies and procedures.

  • Support AES zero-incident safety culture and assume personal accountability and responsibility for safe work practices in all projects, activities, and operations.

  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or related field

  • Must have a minimum of 5 years related experience required

  • Proficiency with Power BI, Alteryx, and Microsoft Excel

  • Experience with financial modeling and forecasting required

  • Able to communicate effectively with higher levels of management.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
  • Experience with Fleet Focus Fleet Management.
