What can you expect?

As the Project Engineer III, you will work on‑site and assist the Construction Management Team with field project management throughout Alaska and the Pacific Regions. Your responsibilities include creating and maintaining project records, reports, and correspondence and acting as a Project Manager when needed.

Responsibilities
  • Lead project planning and assist with RFPs.
  • Understand project contracts, specifications, and drawings.
  • Maintain project schedules, procurement, and logistics.
  • Prepare daily project reporting, including timekeeping, environmental compliance, and permit compliance.
  • Create and maintain inspection reports, job diaries, photographs, video logs, and subcontractor reports.
  • Maintain documentation in RMS or comparable project document/correspondence software.
  • Provide input for project plans development and assist with writing project plans.
  • Coordinate meetings and take notes.
  • Provide work inspection and logging when required.
  • Assist the Construction Team—Project Manager, Construction Manager, Quality Control, and Superintendent—with job‑related tasks.
  • Prepare correspondence as needed.
  • Act as Project Manager when required.
  • Maintain effective communication and coordination among all project participants.
  • Work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities

This position may direct the work of craft and other project workers as needed and directed.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Knowledge of construction‑related computer applications such as databases, spreadsheets, scheduling, job costing software, and Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of RMS or comparable project document/correspondence software.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Ability to read and write technical documents, plans, routine reports, and correspondence.
  • Ability to work independently and cooperatively with others.
  • Problem‑solving and decision‑making skills using available information.
  • Ability to handle stressful situations and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to participate in and facilitate group meetings.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule.
  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle safely and efficiently.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Construction Management, or a similar 4‑year degree.
  • Valid state driver’s license and compliance with the company driving policy.
  • Pass drug, driving, and background screenings.
  • Travel internationally and work in remote locations.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Seven to ten years of construction experience; complex, large‑scale project experience preferred.
  • Construction Quality Management, AKCESCL, OSHA 30, EM385‑1‑1 certifications preferred.
  • Current First Aid and CPR/AED certification preferred.
Working Conditions

The noise level is moderate but may be loud k is performed outdoors in a variety of weather conditions and may include rotations in the field—typically 2 to 4 weeks, about 12 to 16 weeks per year. Locations may have limited cellular and/or internet capabilities.
