Customer Service Representative

Alaska PAWS (formerly the Alaska SPCA) is on the hunt for a Veterinary Customer Service Representative with a heart of gold, nerves of steel, and a love for all things furry.

  Every day is different here. From managing phones and scheduling appointments to supporting our veterinary team, you’ll be the glue that keeps everything running smoothly. (Bonus points if you can type, answer calls, and hand out treats simultaneously!)

  You’re not just answering calls. You’re helping pets (and their people!) in real time. When you leave each day, you’ll know you made a difference – whether it was helping a family with a sick pet or cheering up a pup waiting for its vaccines.

• 3 years of customer service experience
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to type 40+ words per minute with high accuracy

• Not less than 6 months’ experience in a medical/veterinary setting
• High-volume appointment scheduling experience
• Cash handling experience
• Experience in a veterinary practice environment is highly preferred
• Knowledge of veterinary clinic procedures and terminologies
• Knowledge of companion animal welfare issues and sterilization

• Prolonged periods sitting/standing at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to move/lift up to 50 pounds at times.
• Frequent bending and standing throughout the day

• Non-exempt;
  Full time: 40 hours a week

• $21.00 an hour, depending on skills and experience
• Four-day workweek
• Paid vacation, sick, and holiday leave in addition to 3 paid personal days annually.
